When I try to skip through a particular avi file using the seeking bar in virtualdubmod, I get the following error message:
An integer division by zero occurred in module 'xvidcore'...
...while decompressing video frame 30969 with "Xvid MPEG-4 Codec" [biCompression=58564944] (VideoSource.cpp:1832).
Anyone have any idea what this means? I tried to split this video with another program called AviDemux and that program split it fine with no distortions. I was just wondering if anyone knew why I got this error message?
The following information I got from the avicodec program:
File : 791 MB (791 MB), duration: 1:18:14, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 61 %, MEncoder 1.0pre6-3.3, ,
Video : 719 MB, 1286 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 720*400 (16:9), DIVX = OpenDivx v4, Supported
Audio : 71 MB, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, CBR, , Supported

Install the DixX codec that should do the trick. I like to uninstall xvid first rather than have both installed at same time to keep it tidy.

Or you could always install FFDshow although i personally avoid codec packs, although as far as codec packs go its one of the best -

I downloaded and installed the divx codecs and unchecked fourcc decoding option. Thanks again for the advice. -
VirtualDubMod shouldn't require any virtual memory on a 2 GB Windows XP system. Unless you're running a lot of other stuff at the same time. If you were getting low on VM Windows would have warned you.

well, the memory increase was just my effort and getting the popup to go away in regards to the setpoint file. I'm assuming that the vid was corrupted somehow? I have no idea what the info means that I got from avicodec, I was just hoping someone would see if there was anything wrong with the vid.
Quick question, I installed the divx codec but now some of my avis are playing upside down using media player classic but not in VLC. I want to fix this...any idea? -

The Divx decoder has a setting called Use Advanced Hardware Overlay. You might try disabling that. Or updating your video drivers to the latest version.
Oh, you can also use a player that lets you flip the video. VLC and KMPlayer have this. -
Thank you so much jagabo. Disabling advanced hardware overlay fixed the problem.
