I am trying to install Vista Ultimate 64 bit along with raid5.
XP had a pause that would allow the raid drivers to be loaded in, Vista doesn't seem the have that.
Right now Vista is installed on the C drive and the other drives are empty but formatted as NTFS. How do I clear all the harddrives and start over and do it correctly.

I've never ran RAID 5, but I assume you are building the array when the computer first boots, using the RAID BIOS before the OS starts. At least that's how I used to do it with RAID 0, if I remember correctly. Once the array is created, it should act just like any other drive.

  3. this might seem a bit of hard work but get your vista disk put it into the xp system you have and create an .ISO. get the right vista raid drivers from your manufacturer, they should provide similar drivers to the "press f6" within xp, but for vista.

add those files into the drivers section of the .iso, then create a new disk from the .iso.

when you boot up it should load the right drivers for your raid device.

you can do exactly the same thing with XP disks.

    To bigmicka,

Your idea sounds good. Could you tell me exactly where to put these drivers in the Vista 64 system.
