Hi, I've a problem that appears to be shared on my G5 iMac and my Macbook.

I've got 10.4.10 installed on both machines along with the latest Quicktime updates.

I've encoded some of my DVD's in the past at native resolution using Handbrake to produce x264 MP4 files. I'm now trying to re-encode and resize them using ffmpegx so I can play them on my iPod video.

The problem I'm having is, once the file is finished and I view it, some of the colour layers are shifted to the right. This displays as a black and white main image of the correct size and position, with a single colour version of it shifted a third of the way over. They don't overlay properly.

It's quite difficult to explain, I'm trying to grab some screenshots or a small file I could upload as an example.

I don't seem to recall this problem happening before I updated to 10.4.10 and Quicktime 7.whatever...

Does anyone else have any issues like this?

EDIT: Ok, I've attached an image of the kind of problem I'm having. You can see this one has shifted the entire image over to the right and wrapped it. It has then (not as noticable, sorry, I'm trying to use smaller files to cut down on the encoding time) shifted some of the colours further to the right.

If I re-encode this file with MPEG Streamclip it is fine. If I try any of FFMPEGX's other H264 encoders I get other problems. mencoder leaves me with a .264 and a .AAC file, unmuxed. ffmpegs own h264 encoder just fails immediately but the console doesn't appear to list any errors.
