    Hi guys,

I read the archives regarding the cd repair and recovery. I did few things mentioned like applying auto wax, toothpaste, brasso metal polish etc. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

The cd that I have has a video file in .dat format. Its of 40 min. It almost copies to my PC and gets stuck in the last 20 sec, showing Data redundancy error.

The thing is I don't mind recovering all of the disc. The important part is until the first 30 min. So I was wondering if there is any freeware or free software that can recover only the part that I want? Pls. help.

    Thanks!!

    Some CD recovery programs: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/cd-dvd-recovery

As the problem is at the end of the disc, that's commonly where the media itself has problems, irregardless of scratches or damage. You may be able to recover the rest of the disc, but the damaged part may be permanently gone.
