I live in Australia so I use PAL and I've been wanting to capture footage of Xbox 360. I will be capturing at PAL 60 with 16:9 (can use 4:3 if I have to though) aspect ratio using S-Video.

My computer doesn't have any PCI Express slots, just 3 PCI slots and 1 AGP slot. So the version of All in Wonder I'm looking at is this version. The reason why I need something like the All in Wonder is because it also is a Radeon 9600 GPU, which is what I need (a GPU) because I currently just have a really shit thing called "SiS 650_740".

So if anyone knows whether or not the ATI All in Wonder 2006 Edition can capture PAL 60 please tell me. And if it can't please give me a suggestion for a different card that can capture PAL 60.

edit: By the way the ideal resolution I want to capture is Widescreen PAL 60, so 1024 by 576.

I think you will be disappointed with the performance of the 9600 on a PCI slot.

I'd get a cheap 9600 AGP (if that's what your after) and go with a separate capture card/usb capture device that you know will work with PAL 60.

The ATI All in Wonder 2006 Edition is an 8x AGP card, not PCI so the performance of it will be excellent. Whether it can do PAL 60 or not though, I have no idea.

However, you have highlighted something I hadn't realised. I'm looking at a computer upgrade which will require a change to PCI-e and had looked at this card to replace the faithful old AIW 7500 I've been using for years. Now I notice that it is an AGP card it isn't an option. I'll need to get the next one up! (if I can find anyone in the UK prepared to sell me one, nobody seems to list the current ATI AIW range......)

If it uses ATI MMC, then yes, it should be able to. ATI made the boneheaded decision to drop use of ATI MMC, so any new cards not supporting it are fairly craptastic to work with.

    Welcome MarksmanR

So you want to do what alot of others want to do ... xbox360 caps on pc .

Well , avoid vivo types from now on , and try usb2 / pci devices from avermedia

AVerMedia DVD EZMaker USB Plus Video Capture Device = $81

    or pci

AVerMedia DVD EZMaker Gold PCI = $55 , as used for the basic guide

    Xbox360 to pc capture
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic334002.html (explains cables required , and setup)

Capture devices available at : http://www.sunshinecomputers.com.au

    Direct : http://www.sunshinecomputers.com.au/cybermall/browsing.asp?level=1&ptype=46&vendor=0

The people running the site are very friendly , and will let you know if a device is on order , and how long it will take to arrive ... when it dose , they get back and notify you its available .

I had to wait 28 days for the dvd ezmaker gold pci ... but very happy with the card and the service received .

Usb allows those with midi motherboards to add features where pc slots are limited .

    Pci cautions :

    === (agp slot)
---(pci1) = Do not install pci card here (shared resources with agp slot / onboard video)
    ---(pci2) = Shares resources with pci3
    ---(pci3) = Shares resources with pci2

If pci2 or pci3 have pci modem installed , it must be replaced by dsl service or external dialup modem (less issues) , in order to install pci capture device

Just because a slot is free and available , dose not mean it can be used .

Usb also has its share :

Check max current drawn by attached usb devices ... Most motherboards only have a maximum of 1 amp supply .

If you go close , consider a usb hub with its own power adapter , such as those made by belkin .

It is confirmed that the avermedia usb2 devices work with the belkin hub , without interference , provided no other usb / ieee devices are concurrently connected to the hub or pc .

The last thing you want to see is the os warning "usb overload has been reset" from xp ... It means get another motherboard , because usb recording gose to crap from then on and as the apic controller on the motherboard has been affected , your agp card will die soon ... been there before .

edit: By the way the ideal resolution I want to capture is Widescreen PAL 60, so 1024 by 576.
Aint going to happen ... the best you'll get is 720x576 , and get a decent nvidia card that suits the current system ... refer to motherboard manual .

Oh no! When did they do that?
My ATI AIW 2006 PCIe came with MMC - did I get the last version that comes w/that?
