You could load up the SVCD file in DVD2AVI and frameserve it to TMPG like you would a normal rip.

    Hope this helps.

I'm a big time newbie on this. Can you tell me how to convert the SVCD back to VCD? I have TMPGEnc but what were you saying about DVD2AVI? Do I need both programs? There isnt a tutorial on how to do an SVCD-->VCD conversion.

Look to the left under the DVD RIP section. Refer to Sefy's Classical Newbie Guide.

Downlaod and install both noted programs (DVD2AVI v 1.76 and TMPG Encoder.

For serving your clip, Start DVD 2 avi, and browse to your SVCD mpg file. Then run it just like you would for ripping a DVD.

Follow Sefy's instructions, and you should be OK. Hope this helps.

  11. Hi I've also followed the instructions/all the steps and I get the green smudge screen on pc. However, I get a problem with audio on DVD player... the picture is in the back clicking and audibly complaining . Am I missing something in the audio settings. Also TMPGenc doesn't like the conversion. Nero positively objects. Do I burn as SVCD or VCD? Do I change any settings other than to video cd and MPEG 1 from MPEG 2?

    Thanks for all the help!

  12. I am trying to convert svcd to vcd. sometimes everyting goes fine, but sometimes the audio file that dvd2avi creates has -xxms delay, which then makes the audio littlebit off in TMpgEnc. How can I get this delay to be 0ms?? or can I in Tmpgenc join the audio with +ms "delay".

  13. hi, i have followed the instructions, with a svcd ntsc 480x480. tmpgenc did the job in about 35 min. (780mb). nero says it is not the right setting to burn a vcd-cd and ask to go on without the standard-setting. yes and nero burned a vcd -cd. my dvd-player played the 'vcd-cd', with the same quality video and audio as the original svcd-cd. when i try fast forward or backward the film becomes little green blocks, but when i give the order play again, the film plays well again.the 'vcd-cd' is also playable on my pc with powerdvd.if anyone have (other) good settings or a solution for probs, let know it. greetings
