The CD says Student Teacher, but when I download it says Standard???

Sorry, maybe it's me, but I don't understand the problem. You've said you are having trouble downloading Office. I suspect you are doing the download instead of waiting for a disc to be shipped? There isn't a "student" version of Office, it is just the regular version. The difference is the $$$.

You also say that you can't get updates. To get updates, you will need to have the software installed and use Windows Update. Or search for and download all of the updates seperately.

I don't know about the username issue. Most likely, you have to have an account (using a username/password) setup before you can download. Just a guess.

All of your comments are contradicting each other. Try explaining in complete sentences.

I have a CD that says "Student and Teacher Edition 2003", but when I put it in the computer it says "Standard Edition".

And I'm haveing trouble downloading updates from Microsoft.com, I think I solved the problem though.

The "student" versions are marked differently to distinguish them from the regular release. The software itself is the same, pricing is different.
