Hi everybody, I've been using my el cheapo Philips 7130 capture card, and found that for some daft reason, it only records mono sound. When I start the TVR software, it says 'Mono' in green letters on the top right of the TV display, for a few seconds. I've searched and searched in the preferences but can't find any reference to this.
So I've now decided that I will buy another card. I liked the look of the new Pinnacle Studio Movieboard cards - has anybody had any experience with these?
The Amazon.co.uk page for these products say they record in DiVX 6 Pro, which is probably what I want, as I only want to capture my old video tapes for my own use, I don't need to produce DVDs. But I can't decide whether to get the 'Plus' version or not, which comes with a separate connector box. I couldn't see what the connectors are for, even on the Pinnacle site, can anybody enlighten me?

I've bought a Pinnacle Studio Deluxe 8, very cheap, and I'll let you know how I get on with it. I believe the Movieboard only converts to DivX using the PC's processor anyway, so I might as well just record using the Studio Deluxe 8, in the highest quality 'raw' format I can, then convert it to DiVX using DiVX Author, or similar.
