Is it possible to create an HD dvd from a regular dvd? Can i just get a regular dvd and upscale it? Are their any programs that do this?
I know i could just get an upscale dvd player, but I just want to be able to play it from my hard drive.
Thanks.

Your display card has an upscale function called "Full Screen". Quality varies by card.Originally Posted by dbacs

I have the "Full Screen" setup in the catalyst control panel.
Is this the same as a upscaling dvd player? -
"Full Screen" is usually and option under view in your software video player menu. Yes it is scaling 720x480 or whatever the real resolution to the resolution of your desktop (e.g. 1280x1024). The picture is effectively stretched to fit. The player is supposed to manage aspect ratio and will add letterbox for 16:9 on a 4:3 display.Originally Posted by dbacs
Some software upscaling adds some image processing but don't expect miracles. As for viewing on a typical computer monitor, expect similar results. Try a clip both ways.
