Find quicktime creation time

I am trying to find the creation date of quicktime movie files, as in the date/time the footage was shot. I have a digital still camera (Kodak) that shoots video in Quicktime format, but does not use the time/date in the filename, so when these clips are transferred to the PC I don't have a good way of knowing when the footage was shot.

I know this info has to be embedded in there somewhere, like the metadata atom blah blah, but why it's so hard to find is beyond me. The camera seems to know the date/time of the videos while they are still on the SD card, but that's not much use to me once they are transferred. Then the Windows create date refers to when the file was created on the PC. Last modified date looks to be close, but not 100% accurate, especially if the file has been changed in any way since it was shot.

The camera is most likely using the "create date" (same as Windows will do when you import the files).

You could always get a SD card reader for your pc, then the pc will have access to the "create dates" on the SD card....of course they will still be different when you import them.
