  1. After ripping one of my DVD movie, like Pearl Harbor, with Smart Ripper V2.41, and then use DVD2AVI, then TMPGenc v12a, I got the MPEG movie, but noise over the sound.

If I check only the wav file which belongs to the movie, the quality is excelent. But after converting with TMPGenc, the mpeg movie has an unpleasent noise , is like when you fry something, or a rain.

Please help, where I made a mistake ? What setting I should use for audio? The video is pretty good.

  2. Try downloading Toolame from the tools section on this site. You'll then need to go into the enviromental setting in TMPGenc and on into the external tool tab. Configure this so that it will open Toolame.exe in whichever directory you have saved this program to. Tmpgenc sound conversion is not the best.
One more thing.... Have a look and see whether your DVD can handle the sound at 48 Khz when playing your vcds. If so then adjust your audio settings so that it is not automatically downsampling it to 44100Hz. I found this literally performed miracles for me.
