  1. I have some movie clips that I have downloaded in MPEG1 format. Since they are already in MPEG I decided to try burning them to a vcd without doing anything to it. Nero accepted the file and burned the vcd. Unfortunately, when I put it in my stand alone dvd player, thepicture rolls(like a bad vertical hold for those who remember). I tried puting the file through TMPGEnc, but it said there was a floating point error or something like that. I really want to get these on VCD, but I am not sure what to do at this point. Any ideas?

I need to add a few things. This is the Centropy version of LOTR and if I remember correctly, when I looked at the properties of the files it said the frame rate was around 25 which may be the problem. I'm not at home so I can't check right now. That seems not to be true as the frame rate is not displayed in properties.

TMPGEnc says it is an "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order" when I try to open the file.

  2. I was able to get TMPGEnc to open the file by going into Options/Environmental settings and changing the priority of the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader from 0 to 1(under VFAPI plug-in). This got me something that I could burn to VCD and looks very good. Unfortunately, about 10 minutes of the audio(near the beginning) is being dropped, but the 10 minutes being dropped is in the original file I have. Any suggestions?
