    Can someone give me a quick overview of what blue ray is or guide me to a good article?

    I am wondering if I should pay attention to this when buying new hardware.

    personally I'd wait if I were you. The format war is still in full swing. Sony might still be able to come out on top but its too early to tell.

    LG does make a unit that plays both hddvd and bluray but its still a 1000 bucks I think. Right now it might actually be cheaper to buy a seperate bluray player and a seperate hddvd player if you really want to play it safe (albeit a more pricey proposition).

    A theory ... to those that dont have it yet ... or was that ... conspiracy

    Till then its best to wait a liitle longer , and for prices to become more competitive .

    But make sure your pc is able , when you make the move .
