  1. I have some video files mpeg/avi that I'm trying to edit. Is it possible to zoom into certain parts of the video's for a close up.

I know this is possible with pictures I was wondering if its possible with video.

    thanks.

  2. Hi-

I know of one way - pretty easy, too, if you've had any AviSynth experience:
EffectLens: A circular area is magnified with uniform magnification or with magnification varying from center to edge. The center of the disc can be linearly varied during the effect.

In addition to the EffectsLens filter, his complete EffectsMany package includes quite a few other effects, one of which also magnifies, but linearly:

It is possible. Is it desirable though. Most digital photographs are much larger than standard video resolution, which gives you a lot of freedom to move around the image or zoom in while maintaining a high quality. Video has no room to move, so even small amounts of zoom start to produce notice artifacts.

You also don't say which editor you are using. Both Premiere and Vegas (and many others) have Track Motion, which will allow you to zoom in and out, and even key frame the movements to animate it if necessary.

    P.S.:The so-called "wiki look" sucks!

P.P.S.: BTW, most Wikipedia articles do suck as well.
