    The video is interlaced (look it up in the glossary). Some players deinterlace, some do not. It's not an issue if you are creating a DVD. Keep it interlaced and you won't see these lines on your TV.

    If you are creating a more compressed video (WMV/Xvid etc) then you need to carefully deinterlace to reduce the impact. Avisynth has some good filters for this.
