Does WMP/nero edit album info when playing a cd/dvd?

I burned a DVD-R filled with mp3 files(all of which have the correct ID-tags) and yet when I play it in WMP it says that the year for all the songs is 1899....anyone know how to get it to show the correct year?

WMP is good only for testing my CD-RW-just-burned miniDVDs.

MP3 player = Winamp,
MPEG Player = MPC,
AVI player = VirtualDub.
