    Hi,
    I have these components and I want to be able to record the vhs tape to the dvd recorder, and watch the picture while it is recording. I don't need to have the cable connected for any live tv viewing. Can anyone please give me some help....thank you in advance! Mike

    Have a Symphonic model SC3809 tv with builtin vcr. It has on the front an av input white Audio fem rca area and a yellow Video fem rca area. area

    (Have a vhs-c recorded tape with adapter that I use together to play in the tv vhs slot)

    Have a toshiba set top dvd recorder model D-R5SU (also known as D-R5)

    If there aint no video out sockets on the vcr, then there`s no way you can do what you want.

    UPDATE: I am now able to now record from vhs to dvd recorder and view on tv at the time of recording....thanks for the help! Mike

    Ok, thank you. I was able to get a vcr now with video out and audio out rca sockets.

    So, here's what I now have...

    Have a white-westinghouse vhs player, model WVCP-8000. It has one video out rca socket and one audio out rca socket.

    (Have a vhs-c recorded tape with adapter that I use together to play in the tv vhs slot)

    Have a toshiba set top dvd recorder model D-R5SU (also known as D-R5)
