I may well be missing something here, but I'm distinctly puzzled by the absence of Avimux_GUI from the list of Megui updatable files.

I discovered this when AutoEncode insisted on calling on Avimux_GUI, and AviMux_GUI wasn't there. This was with a fresh install of MeGui 0.2.4.1043 on which autoupdate had been run. So it seems that MeGui doesn't install AviMux_GUI, doesn't autoupdate it, and yet insists on trying to use it.

I installed AviMux_GUI manually and set a path to it in Settings, but I'm getting persistent errors with it in batch mode. It seems to throw an objection to CBR, which in itself is puzzling (As a long-standing VDubMod user I was brought up always to use CBR in AVIs). The Adaptive Muxer used manually seems fine -- anyone know how I can get batch mode to use this instead of AviMux_GUI?

As a total newcomer to MeGUI I'm impressed by its ability to set up 2-pass batch encoding while accepting avs input, and it seems to do everything I need. But this last hurdle of muxing in batch mode is defeating me.

So, a few questions, if I may:

1) Why is AviMux_GUI there at all -- the Adaptive Muxer seems to work better.

2) Why, if it's there for a good reason, isn't it included in the install and the update list?

3) Why does it seem to insist on VBR audio input into AVI containers?

4) Is there some way of dropping AviMux_GUI out of the batch process and using the Adaptive Muxer instead? What would be the downside to this?
