Movica not cutting where I want it to

So I'm trying to move Tivo recordings to a DVD (at least to try out and see how the it looks). I've moved the files to my computer, used DirectShowDump to remove DRM and was trying to edit in Movica but I had slight problems. At the start, for the first fraction of a second I'd have blocky green distortion, and at the end, the newly created .mpg would run a few seconds beyond where I had told it to cut (I did this twice to make sure I hadn't done it wrong). What could I do to fix this? Is there any other programs I could use, I'm really looking for the SIMPLEST editing possible here, just take off a touch at the beginning and end of episodes (it's an HBO show - no commercials). Also, would I be out of luck if i tried to use DVDFlick (never used it before) to burn the trimmed down .mpg's to DVD?

Yes , tivo recordings are a pain , but you should beable to use mpeg streamclip to slice exactly what you want out ... very simple process .

Alright thanks - I probably won't be able to try it until this weekend but I'll post about how it goes. Do you know if DVDFlick will work without extra conversion on my part?

Well I tried it out. It wouldn't work. Is there a reason why it is telling me to switch to the Quicktime alternative? I'd really prefer not to if I could - I just updated iTunes (with Quicktime) to 7.3.1 so I should be all good, no?

Thanks for responding. It took me a while to try Videoredo, but when I did, The beginning cut fine, but for no apparent reason, the last 8 or 9 minutes is just cut off. I tried this now on two different files and tried to do it more than once making sure my cuts were in the right place. Could I be doing something wrong in Videoredo? Or is it just another case of Tivo recordings being hard to trim?

The edited version turned out to be exactly 15 minutes. Does the trial version of videoredo have a 15 minute output limit?
