DVD Remake Pro deletes my firstplay?

I've got a DVD authored in DVDWS2, and I've done this before. I want to change the button paths. But for some reason, it is not just changing the button paths, now it's also removing my firstplays. This past time, it even removed the whole menu. What the.. ?

Anybody here a DVD Remake Pro user?

When you say "change button paths" -- do you mean navigation on a menu (up/down/left/right), or do you mean modifying what a button does (i.e. instead of calling Title-1 Chapter-2, it calls Title-3 Chapter-1, etc...), or do you mean something different than those two items

For that, Dimadsoft's free version of MENUEDIT is alot easier (imho). Just change the number next to the EDIT button, and hit EDIT (don't click on a menu button because it will add it to a list of buttons to delete). Try it on a small test project to see how much faster/easier it is than using DVDRemake Pro's navigation changer...

Or, you can also use PGCedit's function to modify the button navigation.

This function works perfectly for me (3.5.3).
I often have to apply it to material authored in TDA2 since there's a bug in remapping buttons in a template if you move them from default position.

Are the button directional links all point to itself after you export, or it is already authored this way in DVDWS2? What version of ReMake is this, btw?

One of the few downsides to DVDWS2 is it does not give the advanced control over button selection directions. This is almost never a problem, the program is pretty smart, but about twice a year I need something special done. I've used DVD-RMP before, but this time it's deleting my firstplay. It's version 3.4.2.

Nope, that doesn't work either. In fact, now the only thing I get is the firstplay. The disc halts after that. No menu.

Dimadsoft wants the firstplay and menu to be in specific VOBs (VTS_01_0.VOB), but the DVD spec is not that narrow.

A good bit of authoring methods put firstplays and menus in with the main VOB set (VTS_01_1.VOB and up). I don't have a "0" VOB for the menu only, it's in VIDEO_TS.VOB. My firstplay is stored with VTS_01_1.VOB

I never had this problem before.

It's been about 15 months since I last had to do this, and I don't even remembers all the technical terms anymore. It's not something I have to think about often.

Any tips or info on how to use PgcEdit for this? It's not the most intuitive software.

I figured out PgcEdit. That did it just fine.
