Since I upgraded to WinXP and MovieStar 4.24, captures just stop randomly. I have had failures as little as 5 mins into the capture and gone as long as 1 hour and 52 mins. Some captures go just fine. It only seems to happen with the SVCD template. I have not modified any of the parameters for that template. The time counter stops and the preview stops at the point of failure, but MovieStar still thinks it is still recording. If I hit stop recording, the resulting clip will playback up the the freeze point but has no sound. I only use VCD and SVCD so I don't know if anything else fails.
Is it just me, or has anyone else seen this? Any ideas or solution is greatly appreciated
