  1. Hi,

Does it exist some downloadable calibration video for a PAL TV ??

Most importants would be color saturation, brigthness and contrast. My CRT TV is now quite old (1998) and I sometimes the white seems to bright.

    Thanks.

Look at some of your DVDs. Many now carry the THX optimiser which will help you do most of this. Pixar discs all have it, as do the Star Wars discs. About the only thing missing is the blue filter required for the final colour calibration.

Late at night on TV you will often see a test pattern like this.

The ten step gray blocks are used to set black and white levels.

    1. Set black level first with the "brightness" control.

    2. Adjust "contrast" or "picture" to set white level just below "blooming". Blooming is where the picture begins to change size or show ragged edges. You should now see ten even steps of gray. If you don't, fine adjust brightness for black and contrast for ten even steps of gray.

    3. Adjust color saturation to give an acceptable level from the color bars on the chart. Color saturation is a more subjective user choice. Studies have shown people in the tropics adjust saturation to richer levels than people in gray rainy northern Europe.
