Well, it makes a huge difference whether you got DVD-R DL or DVD+R DL. DVD-R DL requires a special setting in DVD Decrypter (by the way, you really should use ImgBurn instead to burn - ImgBurn is the same burning engine, but at least it's kept up to date). I don't believe at all in the DVD-R DL format, so I generally don't tell people how to do it. If you try to burn DVD-R DL in Nero, I don't know if it will work at all. I wouldn't bet on Nero being smart enough to do this on it's own. It has to do with the layer break. DVD+R DL are much easier to work with and do not require special manual settings to burn.

If you bought any discs other than Verbatim DVD+R DL, you may have problems. We see a lot of posts here from people who bought discs other than Verbatim and ended up making coasters.

  4. Forget DVDShrink & Nero.
On most DVD's use DVDDecrypter to rip in ISO mode then use the MDS file as the source in ISO write. The MDS file stores the layer break info.
If you are trying to rip newer DVD's made by Sony or LionsGate then you will have to use DVDFab Decrypter.Use ImgBurn ->Build Mode to burn.
BTW:you can also use the MDS file with ImgBurn.
