    Hi,

the movie is not hard subbed, because I have demuxed it just to check that.

I can't turn them off neither in software players nor in standalones.
I loaded the dvd in IfoEdit and also in DVDRemake and can't see any command that forces the subtitles.

There must be a way to turn them off, without demuxing and remuxing I mean.

    Thanks in advance.

    DVDRemake.
Select PGC in DVD domain, open 'SubPicture tracks' pane, right-click on unwanted track and select 'disable track'. Do it for other movie PGCs. If a VTS has more than one PGC and no menu PGCs, it is faster to do the same for VTS (instead of PGC).

    Thank you.

Just a question, does that disable the track permanently or do you still can turn it on and off with the remote?

I'd like to keep the track but being able to turn it on with the remote.

DVDShrink allows you to select the default audio track and which subtitle to display, or hide at startup. I believe the catch is, it needs to be in Re-Author Mode (Movie Only/No Menus).

You do this by right clicking the title in the left pane.

    Talayero,

If they aren't hard-subbed, the problem might be a PUO, which can be changed with PgcEdit, or the subtitle could be forced, which can be changed with DvdSubEdit.

Pgcedit can fix the problem with 2 nav commands which tell it not to display the subtitle by default , yet allows user to engage when they want from remote ... very easy .

  8. And here's a guide for using PGCEdit for the job:
So you have unwanted subpictures displaying on your movie Title without you even selecting them? But you really prefer to have them to be turned off. Well, this PgcEdit guide will assist you on this matter.

PGCEdit has actually changed a bit since that guide was written, so it's even a bit easier now. And I think that once you get into the area which controls the subs, you'll find them to be forced.

When you're done, you'll still be able to turn them on and off by using the remote control.

    Thank you everybody.
I fixed the problem The subtitles were forced. So I opened the dvd in dvdsubedit and changed from forced start to normal start.

Now I have a different problem with another dvd. I can see the subtitles in my computer but not with my standalone player. It says there are no subtitles. If I load the dvd in dvdsubedit I see perfectly the subtitles. But if I load it in DVDRemake it shows the different languages but it says 0 MB for each stream and when I choose to edit the streams it says "Stream for normal view not available".
It's a 4:3 movie. I mean, it's not a problem of wide and letterbox views bad chosen.

Thank you if you can help me with that.
