    Hey everybody..

These is my fist post on videohelp hope you can understand my english..

downloaded 2 mpg files (Mandingo 5 cd1 and 2) a long time ago via p2p.
I wanted to turn them in to vcd but found out Gspot sees them as .rar files Gspot: File Type: RAR file (.RAR) (Mime Type: application/x-rar-compressed)

I them renamed them to .rar to upack them but got a new problem winrar aks for: Mandingo 05 CD1.m00 ect...

I have no problem playing them in Mediaplayer or PowerDVD but I would like to able to convert them.

have any of you ever experinced these?

How big are the files ?

it sounds like you have downloaded only part of the files. Large files are often broken down into smaller files when rar'd. You get a list of files looking something like this :

    file1.rar
    file1.r00
    file1.r01

    etc

You need all of them to get the contents extracted.

    It can't work both ways:
Either you have a RAR (or parts of one or more...), which will need to be unpacked/decompressed to be usable.

    or

You have a VIEWABLE MPG (or similar media file), which DOES NOT need to be unpacked, it just needs the usual codecs, to be usable.

If you say that players will play it and you haven't "unpacked" it yet, then it can't be a RAR and Gspot is wrong (there are a few other inconsistencies I have found with Gspot...).

Try another filereader, like MediaInfo, etc. See what they say...
