I'm trying to find a way to play my PS2 on my LCD monitor since I got rid of the tv in my room. Obviously, I can't just use an adaptor, because the monitor is not NTSC, among other reasons. So what do I need in order to hook it up? Would a video capture card suffice? And in that case, since all I want the card to do is route my PS2 signal to the monitor, could I use a really cheap one for this? Or will a cheap card show low quality? Finally, the monitor is widescreen, so how will that affect my ability to play? Thanks in advance.

    Monitor: LG L204WT

Also, I thought of using a converter similar to this link, though I can't seem to find one that will convert NTSC to 1680x1050, or any other 1.6:1 ratio.

That link didn't work and you don't want to use a capture card. They typically have a delay in what you see. What you want is a signal converter there are a few around but onone of them really good, just expect to see slightly blury video on your sharp monitor. I don't have any suggestions on which ones to get but if I see on (and I don't loose this thread) I'll point it out.

K, thanks for looking into it for me. From what I've read in the mutlitude of forums I've looked at regarding this issue, there really is no good way of attaching a PS2 or similar console to a 16:10 monitor. No matter what, the quality will be lacking. Ah well, guess I'll have to upgrade and get a new tv.

I'm also interested in playing PS2, PS3, Xbox360, etc. on my 1680x1050 computer monitor.

Would this thing work for PS2? Would it also support PS3 and Xbox360? Am I getting the full graphics capability of the consoles that way? Am I losing something?

I have a TripleHead2Go and three 22" widescreen 1680x1050 monitors, and this is the area I want to do all my gaming. I want to be able to play console games or watch TV on one of the side monitors by flicking a switch or whatever.
