Ok heres the low down, i have an avi (xvid) file that I'm trying to convert to mpeg1 (pal) by using fx mpeg writer9.7(free version).
i can do that fine but when i played it there was no audio the audio before mpeg conversion is dolby AC3 48000Hz 448 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1) which plays fine on my comp (if only it did on my playstation) but for my console i need it in mpeg to play. after conversion the audio is either mpeg2 224 kb/s or doesn't show up at all on gspot, and for some reason the audio doesn't play at all. plz help.

you need to convert the audio to 44.1khz stereo. There is multichannel mpeg but I don't think vcd specs allow for it only svcd in hybrid formats.
