DIVX avi to MPEG with tmpgenc - but no sound?

I am trying to convert a divx avi file with TMPGEnc to a vcd mpeg.
The video encodes ok but I can't get the audio to work.

I have followed the guide on dvd ripping which kinda showed me how to use TMPGEnc, but I have tried loads of different audio settings and there is still no sound.

Is what I am attempting possible, and how come I doesn't work!?

try making a wav file out of the audio wuth vitural dub and use that as the aydio source in tmpge.
heres the steps for vb
1.under file open movie.
2. under audio check full processing mode.
3. under file save wav
