Not sure that KMPlayer natively supports xsubs, so you would probably still need DivX6 installed for them to work. Same goes for pretty much all dshow based players.

  3. Thank you, KM is good player but still won't work. WMP can display subtitles if Divx6 is installed but the quality is worse than it displayed in Divx player itself. MPC/VLC/Zoom/KM player won't display subtitle.

It is very strange that Divx player outputs very-streatched AC3 audio, WMP, MPC and other player gives good audio output. I have AC3-ACM codec installed and AC3filter.

    Sorry for wrong info.
I didn't know that this is about xsubs. I've never encountered those.

  5. If you have a CODEC installed PowerDVD should be able to do it. It's not free, but when every computer shops sell OEM discs for $5 it might as well be.

Problem is that I don't think anything other than DivX6 handles xsubs, so you would be looking at a similar situation to what you get in WMP no matter what player you use. Perhaps DivX has some kind of gaussian blur type setting for subtitles? Since xsubs are bitmap based, they will never look quite as good as softsubs using vector based fonts since these can scale to any resolution without quality loss.

    Hi.

I am looking for a Divx player that would handle .srt or .idx/sub, because all of a sudden Winamp quit playing Dixv video. While I am trying to fix it (I have described the problem in a seperate post), I have been using Divx 6 player to watch movies. However, according to the message from celtic_druid, Divx 6 should handle subtitles. Since mine does not, do I have a problem? Please, let me know. Thank you.
