I have a wav of a conference recorder from a video camera in a "big" room.
The sound isn't good and I was hoping someone could take it and work on it with SoundForge or whatever to clean the noise etc..
I'll pay you for this via paypal.
Anyone here could do this?

I can't post just a clip,
Please go to:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0O1WDZGV
Look at the upper right, you'll have to enter the 3 letters then after a few seconds you'll get the download of the file.
It is 90.7 MB and the conference last 56:39. You'll probably not be able to fix the first 18 seconds. From 18 seconds to about 42:00 it should be too complicated and then from 42:00 till the end there is a bzzz...
Anyone else on want to give it a try please do! I'll thank you don't worry.
Have a look and let me know,
thanks a lot! -
Great! Thanks, I'll check back the forum tomorrow morning only so take your time.
you can upload your result using megaupload.com and post the link here.
thanks again! -
Wow, this one is tough. So many problems with it. It is going to take until afternoon/evening for the processing to complete.
Here's a clip of the audio file. Note the squared off peaks in red. That's called clipping, and it results in very bad sounding distortion. You can reduce it, you can't completely remove it, so be aware there will be some artifacts on the finished product.
The first 20 seconds contain paper shuffling that's so loud, you'll have to write that bit of it off. There's a hum throughout the entire recording, which gets worse after the 40 min mark. This isn't your typical 60hz electrical hum, either.
You'll be able to clearly hear the words when the processing is complete, but just don't expect CSI Miami, nor Cleveland, for that matter. There will still be some distortion at times, and various degrees of hum. -
Sounds great! understanding the words is the only important thing here. I have no problem with the things you mentionned ( artifacts )
I'll wait for you here
Thanks! -
Another note, maybe this thing should be convert to mono? I guess we don't need stereo for this...
Also, when you save it, can you select mp3 or wma so that most people with a default windows install will be able to play? Raw Wav is too big.
Thanks again! -
Okay, I'm uploading it to megaupload and I'll post the url as soon as it is complete. Converted it to mono mp3 224kbs. 95MB in size.
As I mentioned, the first 20 seconds sound horrible, the rest just sounds bad, but I can hear every word.

I'm very happy with the result, thanks!
I've made a donation. It think I have sent a fair amount. if not let me know and I'll sent moreBut I think you'll find it fair.
Thanks again!

Hey, thanks. Impossible to remove the buzzing without applying noise reduction, which would have introduced another type of noise. Techniques used:
Clipped Peak Limiting
Multifrequency Hum Removal
Dynamic Range Compression
Frequencies cut between 20-120hz
And thanks for coming through on the donation. I just wanted to help Baldrick and friends out a little bit and yourself as well
