The X-Fi and Audigy series sound cards are built on different hardware architectures, and therefore require separate development efforts. However, based on the requests to date, we are pleased to announce that we have begun development of an implementation of ALchemy for Audigy series sound cards, and hope to offer this product as a low-cost upgrade to interested Audigy owners later this year.
The page with this statement was removed. And I think I know the answer...

A guy from Brazil enabled Audigy support in Creative ALchemy 1.00.03 intended only for X-Fi cards.

Not a very good Customer orientation on Creative side

Owners of selected Sound Blaster Audigy devices can now purchase Creative ALchemy at a nominal price of US$9.99.
Even though the beta driver above confirmed that creative had the intention of supporting the Audigy line of cards since the beginning, I think that $9 bucks is good price for improved EAX support on Vista given the fact that some Audigy cards out there are several years old already.
