  1. Downloaded SUPER after reading all the praises heaped at the program so I could convert a .MOV video file into an MPG or WMV. Didn't work.

In fact, I couldn't get it to convert it in to anything. It is a legit file. Just wanted to convert it to a format that's easier for our worship software/system to use.

    Any ideas or help?

I AM a newbie, so please use simple terms and instructions. Thanks.

    Try Mpeg StreamCLip instead.

MOV is an apple format, licensed and used in many cameras

if the file is the lastest incarnation, you might need QT pro7, in order to convert it.

or you can try "quick time alternative"

Just the latest quicktime player or the alternative is required for mpeg streamclip to work.

Mpeg streamclip > input mov > output dv avi ... anything else might need secondary conversion

In SUPER (not that I'm recommending it, here), did you have Use DirectShow checked? In that case, conversion would be dependent on whatever DirectShow filters you have installed on the system (and therefore, you'd need an up-to-date Quicktime, probably Pro). Also, you can try telling it to use mencoder instead of ffmpeg, or vice versa.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
