do you think the DV-970HD from OPPO is worth if i'm only going to use it for playing DivX?
i plan on using it on a 40" LCD (not Full HD) and i wonder if there would be any difference between this and my current $50 LG dvd player -- i really don't know if i should use the DVI, HDMI or the component input for best quality either.
also, if somebody owns this same (or another Oppo) dvd player, i was wondering how the subtitles for DivX look like (SRT files), since my current LG, when using separate subtitles, shows some big bold white letters with a huge transparent background and honestly it looks really bad.
thanks.

I have a Magnavox MWD7006 ($37) DVD/Divx player. I don't use subtitles.
The output should be HDMI for the player, if your tv has DVI or HDMI for a HD player. If your tv has only a DVI input, you could use an adapter. A HDMI to DVI adapter should work fine, but you may still have to use the components for sound.
