I have just got a ASUS7700 T1 deluxe graphics card, and while I never got the card for the capture part I decided to have a play with it
At first tried the AsusVcr software that came with it, but was not impressed with the quality, so after a look at the forums here I decided to have a go with PowerVCR
The Quality was much better (MPG2/MPG1 640x480 25FPS 4000bit rate)
The problems being
1) The capture is split in to 600MB parts, can not seem to change that anywhere (Not really a problem just annoying)
2) The sync on the MPG2 is about 2secs off, MPG1 is better but not right
I tried to fix it by demultiplex/multiplex it(Tmpgenc gave me warnings on the multiplex part), this made the sync better but not right.
Has anyone had this problem and fixed it or a recommendation for a better piece of software it is not to late for PowerVcr to go back
I really need small file sizes(1.8GB per hour is fine) as I only have 10GB left on the hard disks
I am just looking for something to record tv when I am asleep or out(VCR not really an option)
Cheers
Spec
PIII 1Ghz
256MB Ram
Asus7700 card
Sound Blaster Plat 5.1
7200 Harddisks (DMA on)
Win2000 SP2
