    http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/

I think this is the best site to answer your questions. It gives reviews of the camera based on usage side by side mostly pros so take what they say lightly most of them are over critical and care about things most normal users wont. But give that site a shot.

I have a canon digital camera and i love it its got great reviews. The new Panasonic cameras are also good.

From your post wording I take it English isn’t your native language, if you need more info post back.

I have a Kodak P850 and my wife has a Z650. Both are really nice. I'm originally from Rochester, NY which is Kodak country, so I'm a bit biased. The cameras are really nice though.

    I would suggest a
    Nikon D2Xs body or
Nikon D200 body (few less features, half the price)
Nikon F5 or F6 film body

F6 and D200 should get vertical grip
MB-D200 for the D200, not sure on F6 model

    Lenses:
    12-24 Tokina f/4 DX
    18-200 Nikkor f/3.5-5.6 DX
    80-200 Nikkor f/2.8
    17-55 Nikkor f/2.8 DX

    Accessories:
    SB800 speedlight flash
    Bogen carbon fiber tripod
    Bogen carbon fiber monopod
    Lowepro camera bag
    Nikon flash sync cord
    Nikon TC20E 2x adapter for 80-200

Hoya, Heliopan or B+W multi-coated filters

    That about does it.

Nikon and Canon are the best camera makers in the world. Minolta makes crap.

You did specify "The Best" - LS's suggestion is very valid and you could do about the same in Canon (for body use a 5D or an XTi)...

What??? Nobody liked my Hasselblad recomendation??? It's got 39 MegaPixels and is priced at only $36,000 (body only)... Makes a great point and shoot...

Oh, Minolta doesn't make cameras anymore - Sony bought their camera line...

I must say JVC is just going better and better. If you looking for video cameras go for JVC especially:

    JVC GR DVP7
    JVC GR DVP3U
    JVC GR DVM90

I used all of them fatalistic result. And if you are looking for digital Photo cameras, then go for Nikon and Cannon. Those are most wonderful and satisfactory in the market. I must say Sony is not bad at all. And Kodak easyshare dx7590 is fantastic I love it. Many experts believe that Kodak is the best in digital photography.

    For analog cameras, well Minolta is all time best. Here are some of my favourite minolta cameras;

    MINOLTA 505 SI Super
Minolta Dynax 500si (less function - but marvellous)
    Minolta D 40 (sharp result)

I hope you do have many choices now! Enjoy. ....

sometimes language is a major barrier. be patient because understanding someone who's english is not so good creates more confusion than realized. some take it too lightly, others to hard. either way you're looking for a camera and we'll compromise in language to help you get a nice camera.

I've heard mixed comments on that camera.

Offline too, not something I read online.

Sorry to hijack but there are now two comments on my language statement.. let me set it straight. I did try to help the OP in my opening comments I then left a link I then made a comment that the OP might not be native to English so if there was any confusion please post back.. (in assumption that more help could be given) that’s all i said.. Period end of statement. How anyone could get offended by that is beyond me.

    sorry:

Now back to our regularly scheduled program

well I can still see using analog if on vacation and something happened to your camera or you ran out of space on your camera - and there weren't any best buys nearby to buy more memory cards

There's always the delete option. And it's getting harder to find film anymore.

well but you can still use those disposable flash cameras at the drug store in a snap. If you do run out of space while on vacation its still a worthy alternative - though now they do have disposable digital cameras but I've never used one so I don't know how quality is compared to regular film disposables.

    Everning everyone.

Today, and conensidentally speaking, I was cleaning up around my HDD, in an effort
to regain some more space. I cam across a bunch of photos, and then I recalled
how they got there. They were from a time when I was researching digital (still)
cameras. So, I'm passing by, and along comes this topic, here. Anyway.

What was it.., a year ago or so, I was researching digital (still) cameras. I spent a
lot of time clicking around, everywhere. But the one thing that was the main aspect
of the research was finding sample pics (images) to judge on camera's abilities.

I found several that helped me narrow down the camera. All were Nikon
They simply are the best. I wish I had the link to the pics (I did D/L) but I
don't. So, I'll upload them here, in hopes to brin on some wetty apitites, hehe.

I was sold on Nikon D50 and Nikon D2h digital (still) cameras. I'm sure there are
others (today) that may be better, but from my point of view and going back to
last year or so, these were the top of the line for the type of photography work
that they were being used for.

In the images you see below I enlarged to 400% (in MS Paint) and still, I could not
see any pixelations, other than the .JPEG format that these were uploaded and
posted as such. Thus, perfect cameras (D50 and D2h) for digital image analysis
work. Just what I wanted, two years ago, back in December 2005, and for *my*
RGB / YUV Image Analysis projects.

I found these photos back in Dec 2005.

However, after all that (above) I'm not so happy to say, I did settle on one, though
light years, (IMHO) behind, hehe Kodak Easyshare C330 model.
Part of the my reason in getting a camera was to help me in my imaging and
developing tools to Study and Further Process them. As it turned out, that did
not happen. I found that the camera did not offer *enough* in terms of quality
for my project studies to use it for that purpose. What I was looking for was
the Nikon D2h or Nikon D50 cameras. But, the price was just too high, and the
    rest was history.

Maybe it would help, if we post a few photos produced by our cameras, in an
effort to help with those shopping for one.., or start a new thread. I don't know.
I'm just throwing up ideas, here.

    A word of causion..

Please note, these photos are strickly for demonstration purposes only.
No need to get other peoples works (poor taste) and post them. I would
rather see *your* own work using the equipment you own and in your
opinion, is the most optimum, and to show off your camera's in terms
of feature/capability and of course, quality.

    Nikon D200:

    1:8 scale / 12.5% full image

    1:2 scale / 50% crop

    1:1 scale / 100% crop

Image is unprocessed, directly from the camera.

Image was handheld (no tripod), shot f/2.8, Tamron glass
A tripod image at f/8 and Nikkor glass would have been much clearer.

    My images.

I still think photo shop plays a big part in the finished photo. Most DLSR's need a touch of PS.

  28. I think a D80 is fine. D200 is what I wanted but IMO more pro (Rather than menus, you can easily switch settings with dials). For the money you save on a D200 you can get the D80 and an extra lens.

As for the flash, I think an SB600 will do the job, and again with the money you save, you can get yourself a nice 50mm lens.

    Just my 2 cents.
