  1. Hello

I am having some problems with my Hauppauge USB 2 Tv Tuner.I will try my best to describe in full as best as I can.

When I plug my cable into my Tv the picture quality is great no problems. Now when I plug my cable into my Tv Tuner the picture quality is terrible and very fuzzy. Also when I plug in my tv to my tuner so I can have cable on my tv as well it is also fuzzy.

Now this is the second time I have owned one of these tuners the first time I never had this problem. Now if I say plug in my Xbox 360 with the tuner and record the picture quality is great and there is no problems. Also if I try to record by hooking it through a VCR it is even worse.

Wintv doesn't have any advanced option for changing the video setting only very basic and general one.If anyone has any answers to why this would be happening Id would appreciate it.My gut feeling is the tuner (which is new) is damaged but I could be wrong. It is new though nothings has been done to it nor have I damaged it in any ways.I even purchased new cords as I thought that may be the problem but nope.

Also the audio is all grainy sounding like the video

Here is a screen of the quality I get

    Thanks

What was going where ... the road map was all over the place ... but I think I managed to see it .

Have you tried the more common approach to a clearer capture ... although that device is a bit of a pain in the ...

Send the cable to vcr > vcr output to pc devices is from rca output >

Video out to video input on capture device
Audio out to linein on sound card on pc

Seperating them will clear it right up ... and forget using the tuners ... it should have a mode known as VTR in the software that came with it .

Your vcr becomes the tuner ... and change channels via cable box

Recommend no other usb / firewire device be connected during recordings ... one small hicup is enough to ruin a perfect recording .
