  1. I really need help here guys.

I have bin/cue files created with DVD2SVCD and have tried burning them using both Nero and DAO. Both write OK but are not playable in my Samsung 709 or Denen 3000 , even though it says they are capable.

I tried making a simlpe VCD slide show in Nero, but the same thing happened. Burns OK but wont work.
Setup: Athlon 1.4Ghz AMD. Win 2K & Win 98 (Tried both). HP 9200 CDRW SCSI cd writer.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome please guys as Im lost as to what I can try next.

    Yo Martin,
I too use DVD2SVCD and create the bin & cue files. Burn via Nero 5.5.3. My player (Omni 3102) has no probs playing SVCD on CD-r or CD-RW. Via the players compatability list to the left I see the Smasung might not like CD-R media. Have you tried burning to CD-RW? Maybe just a small test vid? BTW My system 1600+XP and Win98SE. Don't think it's a PC problem here. Try CD-RW.

  3. Thanks, Ill try tonight.

Does the type or quality of CDRW make any difference? Is the cdRW to be closed to all new writing or leave it in state it can be rewritten to?

    Martin,
Make it a closed session to be sure. BTW DVD2SVCD is possibly the BEST SVCD maker out there. Agree? R U using Vers 1.06 build 1?

  6. Ive just checked on the list. My samsung player doesnt support CDR (Ive seen forum message saying it does), so ill try with CDRW. My denon should support both., as well as VCD and SVCD.

    Martin,
Yes I saw that also...hmmm. I can only say that i've had no probs using bin/cues and Nero from DVD2SVCD. Not one. Have a go with the CD-RW and post back your trials... perhaps the Denon will work with a certain CD-R media (high reflectivity???) Most will work on CD-RW.

  9. I think it may be the bin file at fault. I extracted the mpeg back from it and no player could open it (saying corrupted).

I tried dvd2svcd again on a different film and it stopped at 100% of CCE encoding the vaf file.

I think I have some issues there...

    Yo Martin,
I think there is a patch for CCE 2.5 around this site somewhere which fixes file size mismatch crashes in CCE. That may be the problem. I use the patch and encounter no more CCE crashes. Search the posts for CCE 2.5 patch and maybe that could cure it. Hope that helps.
