  1. I saw this reported on IMDB regarding the recent appearance of the movie "Sicko" on YouTube:

Moore: "Film Leak Was an Inside Job"

Documentary maker Michael Moore has accused movie executives of leaking his new film Sicko on the internet because he insists the weekend controversy must have been an inside job. The editors of video-sharing website YouTube.com were forced to pull links to pirated versions of Moore's new U.S. healthcare film after learning as many as 600 people had seen the movie illegally online. But Moore isn't buying suggestions the leak was a mistake or the result of a clever pirate - because the online footage was too good. He fumes, "The film that's leaked onto the internet is not taken at a movie theatre with a little home movie camera the way it's usually done. This is the master. This is the actual digital; it's perfect. You can't really get that unless you've been able to perform an inside job. If you were a police detective, one of the first questions you would ask is about motive: Who has a vested interest in ruining the opening weekend's box office of this movie? If I were the police or FBI investigating this felony that's taken place, that's where I would look."
If Moore is right, I wonder if the the RIAA and the MPAA will put as much effort into this investigation as they put into watching the movie theatres for camcorders. Doubtful.....

It also makes me wonder, with all the pirated movies on the web that originate from leaked movie industry screener DVDs, if the RIAA and MPAA are spending too much time trying to clean up everyone elses backyard instead of their own.

  2. Sicko has been available on torrent sites for about 2-3 weeks, well before it found its way to Youtube. Many movies are available this way before they open in the theaters.

Is fatso trying to blame Bush, the NRA, and the Auto industry for this?

And why is a fatman making a movie about healthcare?

How about a film about working out and eating right?

I don't get the reference to Youtube. Moore says "This is the actual digital; it's perfect".

Doesn't matter how perfect your file is, after it's uploaded to Youtube it's crap quality.

Probably misquoted, no doubt the "perfect" copies are on P2P.

It is not a shaky video camera copy, even though its at youtube crap quality its coming from a good source. He is simply saying that it is an inside job not a pirate in a cinema type copy.

Everything is on P2P somewhere but youtube is lots easier for the masses to find.

Either way I dotn particularly care as he lost credibility a long time ago.

While I agree that YouTube quality is crap, my point is, where did the copies that appeared on YouTube or on Torrent sites 2-3 weeks before Joe Theatergoer with his camcorder could possibly film it come from? If the picture quality was as good as Moore claims, who would have prints of that quality? Well, the movie studio, movie industry members, and.....????

Also depends on who has control of their PCs that render the film. If they are hijacked, a master can be stolen.

I like the line I recently heard from a Comedian (Last Comic Standing if I recall correctly)... He was talking about all the piracy adverts you now see...

One of the adverts says "You wouldn't steel a car would you?", but if your friend just bought a new car and offered to burn you a copy you'd probably take him up on it. lol...

The whole thing is these people are saying it was an inside job. Obviously, Michael Moore knows nothing about the industry he works for.

Here's the thing: He probably hired some pathetic secretary or low end worker. The worker visits simple sites online while at work. One of them dropped a codec in the system and opened up a remote control of a PC. IF the hacker is good enough, they can manipulate themselves through the system and jump from PC to PC. Once into a Master PC, they can remove the entire movie as a clean direct source.

This may not be the exact way they did it, but it's probably not far from it. Another thing is it doesn't have to be a low end worker. Usually the people that do heavy online searching are people in higher positions in the company and know very little of what to do when they visit a site and something pops up. Instead they click something, inadvertently, and allow their PC to be hijacked.

There's always "SuperSize Me", which is about as one-sided as a Moore flick...
Too late though, Moore is already supersized. Hell, he's almost as big as his ego.

I disagree, he's nowhere near as big as his ego.

True, but it doesn't change the fact that his ego is that much larger.

Oh no, there's no dispute about that. I guess we're just disputing if his a** more closely resembles a planet or a planetoid. It's cold and dark yet seems to have low gravity. I lean towards planetoid. :P

Its obvious you haven't seen the movie. No, he doesn't blame Dubya for this. He doesn't really blame anyone for it (insurance companies a little). Instead he just asks the question "why?".

Yeah, because a brain tumor, a yeast infection, getting in a horrible accident, lung problems from trying to rescue your fellow citizens, and your infant's tragic death are all the fault of eating fatty foods and not exercising.

    Wow.
