Can anyone recommend a THM file creator program, that will make a thumbnail file to add to my PSP video files. I use TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER (which works great)to convert DVD video to watch on my PSP, but it doesnt create thumnails. I also use PSP VIDEO 9, but that has problems converting my REGION 1 dvds as the audio file skips.

There really isn't a need for a .THM file anymore as long as you have firmware 3.30 and above on your psp. If you are running the latest firmware you can just place all compatible videos in the VIDEO folder with any name you choose and use a .jpg file with the same name.

To create the files I use The Gimp. It's an image editing program with a similar layout to photoshop but it's much smaller (8mb installer file)and it's free.

I have updated my PSP to version 3.5 and have created a MP4 video and an associated jpeg to use as a thumbnail. But unless i call the file an M4V number and the use the THM file that my video converter program created (TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER) the MP4 video does not appear on my PSP, any suggestions

Well, I never used that program so I am unable to offer any advice on it.
I use PSP Video 9 and I am very happy with it. It's free so give it a try.

Ack.. I'm an idiot. You did mention PSPVideo 9 in your initial post.

What programs are you using to rip your dvds??? DVDShrink and Dvddecrypter both remove region coding.

i rip sections form a DVD using the wonderful shrink, then i usually use PSP video 9, but as i say it cant handle my R1 dvd files. i just need a dvd video editor that will let me cut frames out, and then save the edited file in the same format

Well...as far as I understand Region 1 includes North America, right???
I'm in North America and I have no issues. I cant even begin to think what may be causing your problems.

Sorry .. wish I could be more helpful.
