Hi guys. I know this is not the topic of discussion here but I was wondering maybe you can help me.
I have a bunch of DVDs with video music from a TV station, and I would like to make my own collection without the original logo.
I know is possible because if I convert them to avi I can eliminate that logo.
There is any way how I can delete that, must be something similar with a subtitle, .... I think.
    thx so much

Have you ever actually done this? While it is possible, you should know that after you remove it, the space with the logo becomes fuzzy and it's certainly noticeable. It's agruable as to whether or not the fuzzy area you get after a logo is removed is really any better than just leaving the logo alone. To remove it requires re-encoding, which may result in quality loss.

I should add too that I've seen examples on the internet of video that supposedly had logos removed it always looks perfect, where you can't tell there was a logo there. These examples are faked and you will NOT under any circumstances get results like this with tools available for free on the internet.

I agree. I have tried it before with not so good results. But hey try it for yourself. You may have better luck...although I doubt it. On the top of this page there is a search box. Do a search for logo removal on all forums and you will see 69 threads the majority of which all say it is not worth the trouble.

  7. Many logos are half transparent (even if they may appear white), these can be perfetly removed with x-logo, recipe here:

I do logo removal in Avisynth scripts quite often. Though results vary, if you have a good quality encode with a well-behaved alpha-blended logo, it can really be almost completely removed. Alpha blends brighten the area under the logo, to make a pale shape, like an inverse shadow. Logo removal tools analyse this and undo it. Not perfectly, but much less noticeable than the original logo.

I generally use Nologo, because it's very fast to set up. It just needs one frame grab of the logo on a black background to run it.
If the logo is colour or white, you have to blur in from the edges.
    Xlogo is good for that.

Delogo gives good results, but requires rather more playing around and four or five different frames you have to make for each file.

I don't keep the source after I've burnt my DVDs, I don't have the space.

I tried the MSU filter briefly, but couldn't get it to work.

    @ dapix,

Check out this topic, below. It has several examples and also describes some
aspects of Logo and Removing techniques, etc.
