    Noob question...

I just recently converted my first dv film on to a dvd. Now I'd like to add music to the menu screen and maybe even some other scenes.

Are there any How-To's documents on how to do this?

Is there a specific format the songs need to be in?

    Thanks

    What tools are you using?

You add music to the menu when you author it to dvd using a dvd authoring tool.
You add audio to other scenes using a video editor like windows moviemaker, pinnacle studio, premiere elements.

Ok, I haven't even used a video editor yet. But now it makes sense...

For authoring, Im just using a trial version of TMPG Author, but will try the free GUIfordvdauthor.

When adding music to the menu, does it have to be in a specific format or could I just add it as a mp3 or wav?

Also, are there any decent and free video editors?

    Thanks for your help
