I followed the guide and used DVD Flick to convert an avi file and burn it to DVD which all went fine, or so I thought - when I try to play the DVD I get a message coming up saying
this DVD needs to be formatted, formatting will erase all data

    what have I done wrong?

What are you trying to play it in ?
What do you see if you open the disc in Windows Explorer on your PC ?

It sounds like it has not burned at all. DVD Flick should have created a video_TS folder with the DVD content in it, or perhaps an ISO file (I don't use DVD Flick, but they are basically the only two options available). Either of these can be burned to DVD use Imgburn.

I tried to burn it using imgburn but it failed about half way through. Do you think theres something wrong with my conversion - I know the actual download is fine because I've watched it.

If imgburn can read/open the file(s) for burning, then it sounds like you are having media or burner issues.

You can also verify the converted files before burning by using a player such as VLC.
