    Haven't tried it. I use the the 3-4 program approach and my reasons.
    When Converting Dvd's lots of things are happening. Resizing framerate changing audio going from 48khz-44.1khz and finally encode the changes in video and audio in mpeg format. I might be wrong but 3 to 4 heads when focused together are better than 1.

    Let me know how it works though.
