    Hello,

I have been capturing interlaced ntsc tv with picvideo mjpeg codec via my capturecards rf input. I used to use s-video and composite but since moving to a new house and placing my computer in a different room I am now only limited to rf input.

I am looking for avisynth noise filters to clean up my captures. I have tried convoultion3d using this guide by Fulci Lives.

Since convoution3d is a few years older I was wondering if there was anything newer that might be better or faster. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thank you! I will try it!

If anybody else has any others to suggest I will try those as well.

fft3dfilter is great. Read the docs, as you have to download a support dll and put it in your C:\windows\system32 folder.

fft3dfilter will also reduce color noise by specifying the UV planes you wish to address -

fft3dfilter(sigma=9,plane=1) will clean up a lot of green noise

Fluxsmooth is fast and very nice

    DegrainMedian is also great. Strong.

Not newer, but also good is peachsmoother.

Personally, I find that no single filter is good for all clips. It is worth having a few different ones i your arsenal, as they all have different strengths.
