I took a 25fps Divx, and converted to SVCD. I took the video and ran it through pulldown.exe for 29fps, so i assume now the audio is slightly faster increasing over time.
I heard i could you use Sound Forge to get the audio to match back up with the video, is this possible.
How do i do it?
Please help...

Hi!
I'm not in front of my home PC at the mo but I'll try to help .......
It's quite a basic idea really but it will take time to process a whole movie's audio.
When you've encoded your video file (to .m2v or whatever), find out it's exact length, down to the frame!
Most mpg editing utils should be able to give you that value.
Now, in SoundForge, make sure all your readout scales are set to SMPTE 29.97fps so you can see what you're doing properly.
Now load up your 25fps .wav file.
You're going to need to do a TimeStretch on it ...... somewhere on the menu's of SoundForge you should see such a function (sorry to be so vauge but I use CoolEdit to do this - you should consider using CoolEdit, it's much better for working with film!)
One of the settings in the TimeStretch window will allow you to enter the current length (the length of your 25fps wav file) and your required length (the length of your 29.97fps mpg file).
Once entered hit OK and wait ...... and wait .............. and wait !
Hope this helps - good luck.

thanx dude, been waiting for an answer to this for a while. I downloaded the demo of Cool Edit Pro 1.2a as well, so if I can't get this too work let me know how to use Cool Edit. Thanx again.

Okay, i have a problem.
It seems like CCE always cuts off some of the ending on the movie, actually last time it was just real blocky, not cut off.
But anyway, i don't know the exact time because the ending was cut off. Anybody else experience CCE doing this?
I might try re-encoding and see if it doesn't cut off the ending this time.
If you know a way to resync the audio without having to reencode let me know.
thanx -
Hi!
I don't have a clue about your CCE problem - sorry.
Don't use it much ....... but thankfully there ARE lots of people on this forum that DO use it a lot so hopefully some nice person will be able to help you.
As far as your 're-encode' ........ NO NO NO NO NO!!!
It's not necessary!
I'll explain .........
as far as I'm aware from what you've said, you should, when you sort your CCE problem, have :
1) a MPEG2 encoded video stream (with the .m2v extension or similar)
2) a 'timecompressed' WAV file of your adjusted audio.
These 2 files now run for the same amount of time.
Method :
1) make sure your WAV has a samplerate of 44.1kHz - if not, use CoolEdit to 'Adjust Sample Type' (bottom of 'Edit' menu).
Use a setting of 650 or above for great quality.
This may take some time for a full movie.
2) encode this WAV to a MPEG1 layer II audio file using a util like tooLAME (check the <-- TOOLS section)
3) then use either TMPGenc or bbMPEG to MULTIPLEX the video and the audio.
This will effectively 'merge' the two seperate files into a SVCD compliant System Stream
4) burn it with VCDEasy or Nero5 and NJOI !!!
Hope this helps.
