I'm sorry for asking, but I have a GS230 and I'm interested to use the USB port to get out the movies from the camcorder instead to use the firewire port ... at home I have the firewire, but elsewhere usually don't and my old laptop definitely haven't any ieee1394.
Do you knows how can I to download the footage using my linux machine's USB?I did try both Kino and Cinelerra, but to my knowledge they works only with ieee1394.
Currently I'm using the USB connection to download the pictures from my camera simply mounting the device and copying the files using a bash script and I do the same with my mp3 reader/recorder; I guess if it is a similar way to get the footage from the GS230
Many thanks for any answer
Franco
