After numerous years of DV editing in Premier 6.5 (with cleaning etc when needed in AviSynth), encoding in TMPGEnc and DVD creation in DVD Lab, I'm just about to embark on the High Definition journey.
I have done a considerable amount of searching and I'm narrowing my choice down to
Canon HV20 to shoot in High Definition format
It appears to be one of the better High Definition video cameras for the consumer.
Premier Elements 3.0 to capture, edit and export to DVD (for standard definition) and export edited movies back to the tape in the HV20 for Higher Definition viewing. Eventually I want to create BluRay or HDVD when it is a bit cheaper so I want to edit my video in High Definition format now and I understand that Elements 3 can convert the project to Standard Definition for DVD creation.
I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions, thoughts etc on my findings, particularly the ability of Premier Elements to take over from Premier 6.5 and handle the HDV captures from the Canon HV20.
Thanks
