Hey everyone, I recently purchase an Acer 19" Widescreen with DVI capabilities and thought maybe can be hooked up to my Toshiba Upconvert DVD player. I bought a DVI-D to HDMI cable and hooked it up and the screen does not show any image but seems to be receiving some info from the DVD player because you can actually hear it "thinking" The "No Signal" image pop's up every 3 sec's meaning it's trying to project something but it can't. Anyways, the upconverter is either on 480p, 720p or 1080i and still nothing.

I tried calling Acer and the rep was an A-Hole and did not help me out one bit, so I'm on my own. Can anyone shed some light on this matter, let me know if there's something I'm not doing or I should be doing.

    Thanks alot everyone in advance

The TV model would help. My first thought is you have the wrong cable. Does the TV support digital DVI (DVI-D)? It could be that the TV only supports analog input, in which case you need a DVI-I or DVI-A cable.
