  1. Hi everyone,

I am currently running Win2k, CCE 2.5, DivX Codec 4.12. I am trying to encode a DivX to VCD/SVCD using CCE 2.5, but I get the following error:

"Couldn't find appropriate video codec for 'div3'"

I can play DivX movies just fine with Windows Media and other players.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

  2. Ok..I finally Uninstalled DivX Codec 4.12 and install DivX 3.11 Alpha Codec and it works now for that specific DivX file.

Now I tried to encode another DivX file, but CCE 2.5 crashes when I try using it with VirtualDub frameserve.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

  3. If I recall, you need to run CCE under Windows95 compatibility mode. Under Win2K, use ATCOMPAT.EXE (or something like that) which is not installed with Win2K but it's on the Win2K CD somewhere. Under WinXP, 'compatibility mode' is available by going to the program files properties and clicking on the compatibility tab.

    good luck.

I'm also having trouble with CCE under win2k. I couldn't find atcompat.exe on the win2k pro disk. are you sure about this?

  6. I finally got CCE 2.5 working with VirtualDub 1.4.7. What I had to do was
    - uninstall my Divx 4.12 Codec.
    - install the Divx 3.11 Alpha Codec.
    - reinstall Divx 4.12 Codec, but when it asked me if I wanted to use this coded for Divx 3, I said no.

I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but CCE 2.5 seems to work with Virtual 1.4.7 frameserve under win2k now. I've been using TMPGE prior to trying CCE 2.5 and CCE 2.5 does seem alot faster. I don't know whether the video quality is better though. The only thing that bugs me is the damn LOGO! I've been reading the post on here and every seems to be annoyed with that too. Any suggestions besides speding $2000?
