Is it black and white also ?

Sound's like you have a PAL video & we are NTSC.
PC's are not restricted by PAL or NTSC playback as most standalone dvd players and tv's are in the U.S.

Open it in DVD Decrypter and check the framerate & resolution, or open a VOB in gspot or avicodec & check the framerate, resolution.

Drop one of the VOBs from the VIDEO_TS folder into Gspot 2.70. Check the framerate. (Frames/s) I suspect 25fps PAL video instead of 29.97 or 23.976fps NTSC. You can probably also check it with some software players. Gspot will also tell you other info about the video.

    And welcome to our forums.

Do a search for - convert pal ntsc - see how much effort and learning you want to put into it or.... you can buy a cheapo or expensive "good" dvd player that will convert PAL to NTSC on the fly.
Usually most people's choice and the easiest.

If quality is not that big of an issue and you can live without 100% quality comparison you could convert it with nero, ConvertXtoDvd or some other one click wonder but you will lose all the original menu's, chapter points, ect.
Unless you really want to work on it, spend alot of time & demux the whole dvd, convert each seperate title and menu and reauthor the whole thing.
